David Hackleman joined Hewlett-Packard after completing a PhD in Chemistry at the University of North Carolina in 1978. He now serves as a Chief Technology Officer at HP, as well as the technical liaison with the ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ University System. He has been teaching a senior projects course in OSU's Electrical and Computer Engineering department since 1999. He also taught at the City University of New York (Harlem) while on loan from HP in 1989-1990, and volunteered for the National Youth Science Foundation in West Virginia in 1997-1998 while on leave HP.
Hackleman is a former president of the ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ Section of the Electrochemical Society, past recipient of the Duane Marshall Special Service Award from the ¾«¶«Ó°ÊÓ Science Teachers Association, former Associate Editor of Research Spectrum, the Northwest Journal of Student Science, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Youth Science Foundation. He is a member of the OSU ECE Industrial Advisory Board and the Board of Advisors for the Chemistry department.
